How Aralin World Grew, and Where We’re Headed Next
Aralin World started as a big dream but life had other plans. After chasing huge goals, burning out, and taking a step back, I returned with a simpler mission: to teach Tagalog my way, to learners who truly connect with my style. Here’s how my journey shaped what Aralin World is today.
Aralin World is our humble website. Specifically, it is a home for Tagalog learners like you. Launched on September 8, 2021, it started as my way to share lessons and build a space where heritage learners and language lovers could speak Tagalog with confidence.
However, its journey has not been a straight line. Let me tell you how it evolved, and why it looks the way it does today.
Why I Built It My Way
As a Computer Engineer and IT professional, it was one of my bizarre dreams to launch an app or build a platform that can compete with your favorite tech giants... and I did not want to be just a user.
That's why I chose to go independent from the get go.
I wanted the freedom to teach my way, stay true to my values, and avoid rules or algorithms I don’t believe in.
That doesn’t mean I avoid all big platforms! I am still active on YouTube, and by mid-2026, I will return to podcasting. (Yes, self-hosted. Tech folks, you know what that means 😉).
The Big Dreams (And the Reality Check)
In the first three years, I dreamed HUGE: a bustling community, a team of teachers, even an online university.
I wanted to create jobs, especially for professionals back in the Philippines. But life had other plans.
Between family drama and challenges with a virtual assistant, I was stretched thin... working almost 24/7 across time zones.
It felt like a nightmare. So, I stepped back. I didn’t quit, but I paused to breathe and rethink everything.
For two whole years, I stayed off social media. Then, in January 2025, I came back. Then, with a new mindset.
Aralin World Today: Small, Focused, and Personal
Now, Aralin World is a one-person show (with love and advice from my husband, Bruce). I’m not chasing fame or massive numbers. Instead, I want to serve learners who truly connect with my style and values.
Here’s what that looks like:
- Premium 1-to-1 Courses: Always open, always improving. Slots are limited because I focus on customized, high-quality lessons for each student.
- Paid Memberships: Access to vocabulary, grammar, verb tenses, and more—with frequent updates. (Paid members: Keep an eye on your inbox and the website for new lessons!)
- RPG-Style Learning: Open to all members (even free ones!). If you’re confused about how it works, reply with "I love seeing your quests" (it’s how I check your progress!).
Your Turn: How Do You Want to Learn?
Now that you know the story, I’d love to hear from you:
- Are you happy learning at your own pace?
- Do you prefer email lessons over live coaching calls?
- What’s your ideal way to access Aralin World?
Hit reply and let me know. Your answer helps me shape what comes next!
