❓ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is Aralin World: The Tagalog Quest?
A gamified, community-driven program where you learn Tagalog and explore Filipino culture through RPG-inspired quests, storytelling, and collaborative challenges. Think of it as a language-learning adventure!
Who is this game for?
The Tagalog Quest is designed for adults 21+ who want to learn Tagalog in a fun, immersive way—whether you’re a complete beginner or already know some basics. No prior knowledge of Tagalog or RPGs is required.
Do I need to know Tagalog to join?
Not at all! The quest starts at Level 1, where you’ll learn Tagalog from scratch. Even if you know a little, you’ll still begin as a Dayuhan to experience the full adventure.
What's a Dayuhan?
Dayuhan means "foreigner" in Tagalog. It’s your starting role (Level 1) in the quest! As you complete tasks and earn Language Points (LPs), you’ll level up to Kaibigan (Level 2) and beyond.
How do I earn Language Points (LPs)?
You earn LPs by:
- Completing quests (e.g., solving puzzles, filling in the blanks, writing phrases, practicing conversations).
- Finishing optional tasks for bonus points.
- Engaging in the forum (sharing tips, helping others).
How do I start the Tagalog Quest?
Simply reply "RPG" to the email you received from Albine, your GM. You’ll get your first quest and instructions right away!
How much does it cost?
The basic quests and community access are free. We offer optional premium quests and resources for those who want to level up faster.
What is the timeline for the RPG-style Tagalog learning?
The Tagalog Quest is self-paced and ongoing. You can take as much time as you need to complete quests and level up. New arcs and chapters are added regularly, so there’s always something fresh to explore!
How are quests distributed?
Quests are sent via email from Albine (your Game Master). Each quest includes:
- A storyline to immerse you in the adventure.
- Tagalog lessons tied to the quest’s theme.
- Tasks to complete (e.g., puzzles, conversations, or challenges).
- Optional tasks for bonus Language Points (LPs).
Can I invite friends or family?
Absolutely! The Tagalog Quest is free and open to age 21+. The more, the merrier—and the more competition! Invite them to sign up here.
What if I get stuck on a quest?
No worries! Comment below or email Albine (your GM) for hints. You can also ask the community—someone might have the perfect tip!
How do I level up from Dayuhan to Kaibigan?
Earn enough LPs by completing quests in the Ang Nawawaláng Bayan ng Tansô arc. Albine will track your progress and notify you when you’re ready to level up!
Will my progress be shared in the forum?
Only if you want it to be! Let Albine know if you’d like your scores or achievements shared to inspire others. Otherwise, your progress stays private.
What’s the story behind Ang Nawawaláng Bayan ng Tansô?
Ang Nawawaláng Bayan ng Tansô ("The Lost Village of Tanso") is a fictional mystery you’ll unravel through quests. Each chapter takes you to a new location, blending Tagalog lessons with immersive storytelling.
How often are new quests released?
The Tagalog Quest is ongoing, with new arcs and chapters added regularly. Stay tuned for announcements!
Can I compete with others?
Yes! While the quest is self-paced, you can compare LPs and levels in the forum. Friendly competition makes learning even more fun!
