The Filipino Spirit of Giving & Sharing: A Christmas Series
This December, let’s celebrate the Filipino spirit of giving! Join me as we explore traditions like balik-bayan boxes, pasalubong, and bayanihan—and share your own stories. What holiday practices warm your heart (or puzzle you)? Reply and let’s talk!
The holidays are here, and with them comes the familiar warmth of Filipino traditions—those special ways we give, share, and connect with one another. This December, I’m excited to invite you to join me in exploring "The Filipino Spirit of Giving and Sharing" through a series of articles.
What to Expect?
For 12 days, we will unpack the buzzwords and heartfelt practices that define Filipino generosity: from the joy of balik-bayan boxes and the thoughtfulness of pasalubong, to the community spirit of bayanihan and the simple act of pagbabalot ng mga sobrang pagkain. I will also be sharing my personal reflections and stories—because these traditions are more than just words; they are the threads that bind us to our culture and to each other.
Why This Matters?
Whether you’re celebrating Christmas in the Philippines or thousands of miles away, these traditions remind us of what it means to be Filipino—generous, thoughtful, and deeply connected. Let’s celebrate and reflect on these practices together!
Your Turn:
I’d love to hear from you:
- What reflections or memories do you have for this December? Share your favorite holiday moments or traditions!
- What are your plans for the holidays? Are you sending a balik-bayan box, preparing pabaon for loved ones, or joining a bayanihan effort?
- Are there Filipino Christmas practices that confuse you? Let me know—I might just write a post about it!
Reply to this email or leave a comment on the blog. Your stories could inspire future articles!
Stay tuned for the first post—coming soon! In the meantime, may your December be filled with love, laughter, and the joy of giving.
Kitakits!
