From Exhaustion to Empowerment: The Narrative of the Past Teaching Experience in Tagalog

This month, I’m stepping back a bit and combining storytelling with introducing Tagalog words. So, I’ve set aside some time and space for self-reflection, and I’m excited to share my thoughts with you.

Here's what you don't know about my old world…

The old Aralin World was interesting but very exhausting. It had all the 'toys' that I wanted, but that old me was naive to the consequences of my actions. I had people and relationships in this old world—lots of them. Many are worth remembering, but some are meant to cut loose.

It feels like I've built bridges unknowingly—bridges for people using other people. I’ve set up lounges for folks, but it seems like they weren’t quite their cup of tea. I’ve shared some lugaw (rice porridge) with them. It’s great that some people have returned the favor, which is truly appreciated. However, others enjoyed the food but didn’t express their gratitude.

I went to the parties, but it was a mix of people who were both nice and a bit annoying. It felt like everyone was just trying to get attention, and it really drained me. I spent so much time at these gatherings that I felt sick.

It feels like there’s just too much going on—too many noises, too many shiny things to pull your attention away, and too many things to take in in that old world.

I thought that was where I would truly flourish. I imagined that everyone in that environment would be supportive of me. The old me was assertive, but also deeply insecure, burdened with worries, and filled with fear. Because of unmet expectations, I lost the ability to remain calm.

I was a people pleaser, and I often felt like I had to change to fit in when others didn’t like me. The old me was very apologetic to everyone, even people I didn't know well.

Now guess what? That old world doesn't exist anymore! That old me is gone.

Today, I'm destroying that childish builder of Aralin World.

Building Aralin World: A Journey of Letting Go, Stepping Into Maturity and Infinite Possibilities

I’ve learned to let go of those who aren’t a good fit for my projects. It’s important to focus on people who appreciate and support me.

I've decided to let go of complex projects that are hard to maintain. I may return to a few mini projects I’ve started, but I’m not sure. I shelve them. I might recreate at least one if time permits.

I’m entering my maturity phase. I'm embracing a new Aralin World.

I’m looking at the new me tuning into my Spirit. I set aside at least 45 minutes each day to jot down my thoughts. I really need to have this sacred hour and space to get some clarity.

I'm still learning, and I might not always be perfect. I could find myself swinging like a pendulum bouncing back and forth, from point A to point B, and back to point A again. I'm okay with that. I shouldn't feel like I'm being thrown around in this roller coaster ride of life.

I’m creating a brand-new world, and it’s huge—so vast and endless!

I'm creating the real Aralin World. 💪
